What did you do growing up that got you into trouble? Sneak raw cookie dough batter when Mom wasn’t looking (or at least I thought she wasn’t looking)
What’s your favorite asana and why? My favorite pose to teach is Shiva’s Twist because it is not a commonly taught pose, it is accessible to students of all ability levels, and it can serve as a fun transition to other standing poses. My favorite pose to do is Triangle because I love that it makes me feel flexible and powerful.
Describe your teaching style: I am a Vinyasa yoga teacher that uses the Refined Flow method. This method, inspired by the Prana Flow and Anusara styles, melds a dynamic vinyasa with precise alignment. The Refined Flow approach incorporates proper alignment of asanas, meditation, pranayama, and yogic philosophy. The mission is to guide you on a journey to deepen your practice and knowledge of yourself so that you can live and inspire others to live their most vibrant, joyful lives. It is the firm belief of the Refined Flow program that happy, healthy people are the people who can help build a happy, healthy world.
Tell us about your first yoga class (or a memorable experience from your early yoga days) My aunt introduced yoga to me as a child and because my Aunt practices Iyengar yoga, my earliest memory is trying to hold poses for a very long time and thinking “I can’t do this!” As it turns out, I could do it….it just took some time and patience.
